Club Objectives
By joining the Vet Aide Club, you can learn more about opportunities to gain practical, hands-on experience in a variety of animal care fields. Our members run the gamat of animal disciplines, including Animal Science, Avian Science, and Wildlife, Fish and Conservation Biology, to name a few.
Our VAC members learn invaluable information about a wide variety of careers in animal care and the steps you need to take to get you there. VAC serves as a fountain of resources to help you explore and decide possible post-undergraduate goals.
As a member, you can apply to one of our many internship opportunities to volunteer with the UC Davis Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital (VMTH). You can also learn about many more internship opportunities related to animal science and veterinary medicine.
The Vet Aide Club also provides social networking, connecting students who have similar interests in animals care or veterinary medicine. Overall, the Vet Aide Club strives to promote fellowship among its members and to provide them with all of the opportunities to be competitive in animal care fields.
To Become a Member, you must:
1.) Be an undergraduate student in any major at the University of California, Davis.
2.) E-mail our Secretary, Geena Ng at gcng@ucdavis.edu to be added to our list serve, providing you with the most current updates and opportunities available with our club.
3.) Complete a Membership Application and turn it in at our Quarterly Internship Sign-Up Meeting or to Jeanne Shelby in the Internship and Career Center, 2nd floor Room 220 South Hall.
4.) Pay dues of $5 per quarter with your application or $15 per year (including summer, offered only at our Fall Quarter Internship Sign-Up Meeting.). Paid at any of our General Meetings or to Jeanne Shelby in the Internship and Career Center, 2nd floor Room 220 South Hall.
