Vet Aide Club Pre-Vet & Animal Science Internship Meeting

Meeting Highlights:

  • Veterinary Mission Trip Abroad: Learn how to volunteer for this program and gain valuable hands-on experience in Central America!
  • Learn about other internships including volunteering at the International Primate Rescue Center, Sacramento City Shelter, Genentech and more!
  • Health Sciences Advising: Learn what they have to offer to help you prepare for veterinary school.
  • VAC Clothing Sale! Come purchase our new VAC sweatshirts, t-shirts, and scrubs for your internships!
  • VMTH Internships: Learn about the application process for getting an internship at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital

Please RSVP to nssanjose@ucdavis.edu if you are interested in the following animal handling workshops on campus. They each last 1 -1.5 hours and are open only to Vet Aide Club Members:

Avian Handling Workshop Friday, November 13th at 4pm in the Animal Science Teaching Facility on Dairy Rd.

Equine Handling Workshop Saturday, November 21st at 3pm in the Equestrian Center on Equestrian Lane off of Garrod Dr.

Canine Handling Workshop Time and place TBA with world-renowned behaviorist Dr. Sophia Yin!

If you missed out on our first internship meeting or want to learn more about animal-related internships and opportunities, come join us!

Meeting Highlights:

  • VIDA: Veterinary Adventures in Central America Learn how to volunteer for this program and gain valuable hands-on experience abroad!
  • Learn how to find the RIGHT internship for you! Whether you want an internship with small animals, large animals, exotics or wildlife, a paid position or a position for academic credit, or you just need more clinical or research experience, we can help you find the opportunity that fits your needs.
  • VAC Scrubs Sale! There are just a few Vet Aide Club logo scrub tops still available for $24. Most internships require that you wear scrubs so get them while they last!
  • Leadership Positions: Hear from our committee leaders about how to get more involved!
  • Upcoming events: Animal Handling Workshop Series -Starting November 5th, Workshop by renowned small animal behaviorist Dr. Sophia Yin! Plus many more events to come

Steve's Pizza Fundraiser!!!

Monday, October 12th 5pm-10pm

What better way to cap off your three day weekend than with some good food and friends? Steve's Pizza is hosting a fundraising event for the Vet Aide Club on Columbus Day. Pick up a flyer at South Hall, 3rd floor then come eat with us at Steve's Pizza and 25% of the proceeds will go directly to the Vet Aide Club and help benefit the programs that we have in store for pre-veterinary and animal science students! Spread the word and bring your friends!

Come apply for our pre-veterinary and animal science internships at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and more! Be sure to bring a completed Membership/Internship Application and $5 per quarter dues or $15 for the year (including summer).

****If you are unable to attend this meeting and would like to become a member and/or apply for an internship, bring a Membership/Internship Application and dues to 3rd Floor South Hall BEFORE the meeting.****
