Descriptions: "Solid As A Rock" youth group is part of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Our youth group has a membership of 80 students, but actual attendance is in the 20-25 range. The students are 5th thru 12th graders. We are a non-profit organization and this year, for the first time, we did not receive a budget to work with, so mostly we have to rely on fundraisers. Our youth group is involved in service to the community in a variety of ways: we help the Lazarus Club with set-up for funerals, our dancers perform for schools and convalescent homes, we help with the Woodland Ecumenical Christmas Baskets; participate in ACS Relay for Life; the Christmas Parade; etc. Because I am the only adult working with the group, it is difficult to break into groups since an adult has to always be present. I am looking for interns to help in the following areas: music/drama/dance. We are interested in starting a contemporary worship band - I have the students, they have their instruments, but no director. Our dance group is a hip/hop, old school, salsa/merengue group. Would like someone who knows praise worship dance to provide assistance. Need creative, energetic, vibrant people to help. Preferably of the Catholic faith. For information, please contact Yolie McLaughlin in the youth ministry office at 662-4510 or my cell: (530)908-5045 Keywords: youth, religious, recreation
