A panel of international professionals will share how they successully secured jobs in academia, industry and government.


Bo Feng is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Communication at University of California, Davis. She joined UCD after earning her Ph.D. in Communication from Purdue University in the fall of 2006. Dr. Feng has a master’s degree in Linguistics and a bachelor’s degree in English from Beihang University (formerly known as Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics) in Beijing, China. Dr. Feng's primary research interests lie in the areas of social influence, persuasion, and cross-cultural communication.

Vivek Chetty is a project manager for John Zink Company. He received a masters degree in mechanical and aeronautical engineering from UC Davis.

Anke Mueller-Solger is Lead Scientist for the Interagency Ecological Program in the California Resources Agency. In her role as IEP Lead Scientist, she provides scientific leadership and coordination for the IEP agencies and the CALFED Science Program. She has degrees in biology from Goettingen University in Germany and a Ph.D. in Ecology from UC Davis. Her scientific research focuses on the ecology of lakes, rivers, floodplains and estuaries, and with a variety of organisms, from algae and protists to invertebrates and fish. Dr. Mueller-Solger’s involvement with IEP began in 1998 as a postdoctoral scientist working on a CALFED-funded program on carbon sources and sinks in the upper San Francisco Estuary.
