How to Sign-up for Hospital, Clinic and Nutrition Internships

  1. Find out dates of “online sign-ups” (http://hbs.ucdavis.edu or 530 752-2855).
  2. Read descriptions of internships online or (even better) talk with a coordinator (South Hall 2nd floor) about internship choices and read “Clinical Internships: Student Reports” binders for a student's perspective on their internship experience.
  3. Register online during "online sign-ups" dates.
  4. After you register, you will be sent an email with your pass-time and code. You have access immediately to the hospital/clinical and nutrition internships and schedules by using your code. This on-line process is NOT linked to SISWEB.
  5. During your pass time you will be able to sign-up for either one internship or be added to the Confirmation Meeting Waiting List. You may reenter online sign-ups after your pass time and make changes as many times as you want until the close of the online sign-up period.
  6. A Confirmation Meeting Waiting List is for those who want an internship (e.g., child life or emergency room) which has completely filled or where the times you want to volunteer are filled. Those on the Waiting List will be given the first choice of any open time slots during the Confirmation Meeting (be aware we can't guarantee you a spot just because you're on the waiting list). Check the schedules frequently throughout your pass time to see if a spot opens up. If a spot you want opens up, you will need to remove yourself from the Waiting List or internship you no longer want, refresh the page and add yourself to the open spot. Remember, you are able to add/remove yourself from an internship or Waiting List at any time and as many times as you want during your pass time.
  7. DO NOT sign up for a time you can't volunteer! No switching of time slots will be allowed during the confirmation meetings. Students on the Waiting List have first priority for all open spots.
  8. YOU MUST ATTEND THE CONFIRMATION MEETING* FOR YOUR INTERNSHIP or you will be dropped from your internship spot.
  9. If you cannot make the Confirmation Meeting for valid reasons call 530-752-2855 prior to your Confirmation Meeting.


REMEMBER YOU MUST HAVE PROOF OF IMMUNIZATIONS FOR HOSPITAL INTERNSHIPS

*Students who are finishing a two quarter commitment do not need to attend a confirmation meeting if they have filled out paper work with an ICC staff person during the priority add period. Questions? email hbs@ucdavis.edu
