Pharmacy - Ambulatory Care Center Observe pharmacists provide drug and dosage information to patients. Become familiar with generic drugs and brand names, as well as with the unit dose dispensing system. Interns in clinical pharmacy settings may observe drug therapy. |

Mandatory Confirmation Meeting: Attendance at a confirmation meeting is required for all internships. Day and time will be provided when you sign-up. Be on time to this meeting or your spot may be given away. Any internship openings will be given to students who were unable to obtain an internship placement during sign-ups. Meetings last approximately 1 hour and you must stay the entire time. Bring student ID, paper, pen, class schedules, and your internship placement confirmation email (the 2nd email). Mandatory Orientation: The hospitals and some private clinics have a mandatory orientation that you must attend before volunteering. The day and time of your orientation (if applicable) will be provided when you sign up. If an orientation is required for your internship and you do not attend, you will be dropped from your internship with a penalty. Immunizations: Proof of Rubella and Rubeola vaccination, and TB test (within the last 10 months) required for many internships. Details will be provided when you sign-up. Please see your private physician or Cowell Student Health (752-2300) for immunizations.

Become familiar with common brands and generic names of medications. File prescriptions and patient records. Reshelve and stock drugs throughout the store. Professional attire, attitude and reliable transportation a must. Interns will work one 4 hour shift within the hours listed below. |
