Student Advisors: Our SUPERHEROES!

Liberal Arts & Business is also the home of four student advisors - our superheros! ICC Student Advisors are great resources for UCD students and alumni. They're trained in helping you find internships and career opportunities as well as many other things. Bring your resumes and cover letters in and they can help you polish them up; or if you don't have one, come in and see them and they'll help you get started. In addition, they have a lot of information that can help you in finding an internship or career that is right for you.

It is always advisable to speak with a Student Advisor specializing in your area of interest. However, all Student Advisors are trained in critiquing resumes. If you would like your resume critiqued and cannot make the scheduled time of your specific Student Advisor, visit one of our other Advisors - they are all eager and willing to help you. Read about our four superheros below and click on their bios for more information about their specialties.

Kimberly Chavarria
Kim Chavarria

Hello! My name is Kim and I am one of the Liberal Arts and Business student advisors here at the Internship and Career Center. I am entering my senior year as a Sociology, Organizational Studies major and Managerial Economics minor. I am interested in applying to graduate school in the fall for the Masters in Accounting program at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. I am currently the Chapter Director of the Nourish International student club on campus and I am looking forward to helping students find internships and volunteer opportunities to help with their future careers. I spent this past year working as an Event Planning Intern at a non-profit organization along with studying abroad in Spain! I love to spend my free time doing outdoor activities such as running, waterskiing, and golfing with my family. If you need some help exploring jobs and internships to help with your future career, feel free to stop by and talk to me, I would be glad to help!

Steph Cheung
Stephanie Cheung

Hi there, I'm Steph! I am entering my fourth year here at Davis and am pursuing a degree in Sociology and double minoring in Education and Communication. I am a part of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and help lead a freshman small group on campus and am also involved in several intramural sports. I would love to teach someday and have spent time in the classroom the past 4 years, working with 2nd graders. Here are some of the things I love: 30 Rock, running, Taylor Swift, Toy Story, baby carrots, SF Giants, and Apple products.

I am one of the Liberal Arts and Business student advisors at the ICC and am excited to share with you what I know about finding jobs and internships via Aggie Job Link, building up your resume, and general advising. Come drop by and visit Kim, Kat, Ab, or me in our office; I am more than happy to help and look forward to meeting you!
Ab Khurana
Abhishek Khurana

Hi! I'm Ab, and I am a third year student pursuing a degree in Economics. I am currently involved with the ICC as a student adviser, a startup called Top Hat Monocle, and Alpha Kappa Psi, among other activities. I have also worked at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management and a nonprofit called Farmer Veteran Coalition. While my career plans are far from decided, I am interested in pursuing marketing and product management roles at exciting startups or corporations in the near future. I am huge on sports (any Warriors, Giants, or D Wade fans out there?), and I enjoy listening to a range of music genres and spending time with fun people.

Come by our office to chat about anything liberal arts, business, or just career related, or anything that I mentioned about myself above. See you soon!
